Today’s Good Sam Prayer Call – 8/17/20 – God is Sovereign!

” The Paths God takes are older than the oldest mountains and hills……Habakkuk 3:9!

God’s Sovereignty as we go through trials even sometimes suffering can cause us to think, how vulnerable we are. We are not in control of our lives or the lives of those around us. We may also experience trials and hurts, however, we can be assured God wastes nothing where He does not get the glory in our lives. We can stand in awe going through trials and suffering and know that God will use this for the simple purpose to refine us.

“Sovereign” by definition is…. the right of God to do as He pleases. This implies that there is no external force or power to tell Him otherwise what He can and cannot do. This means that God is sovereign over the affairs of men “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.” Gen 50:20. This means that God is sovereign over all creation “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Matt 10:29-31. This means that God is sovereign over the security of salvation for the believer. “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.” John 6:37 Knowing more about God and His character helps us to face whatever comes our way as individuals, as a family, as a church and even as a nation.”

God is Sovereign in disappointments. Romans 8:18 declares ” For I reckon that the sufferings of this present world are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” God is a rewarder of those who are diligent and seek His Face!
