We Are Building.

At Good Samaritan Health Center

What's Happening at Good Sam?

On October 29th Good Sam broke ground on our Full Circle of Health Capital Campaign Expansion project! Concrete is moving so we can build our new fitness center (operated by the YMCA of Metro Atlanta), outdoor farmer's market & activity pavilion, and event space to benefit our neighbors on Atlanta’s Westside.

This project has been a long time coming, but we are thrilled to be at this point and eager to expand our healthy eating/exercise programs to our neighbors with heart disease, diabetes, and other health-related illnesses. The fitness center and farmer’s market pavilion will be open to the surrounding community - you do not need to be an existing patient of Good Sam to benefit – although we would love to be your medical home if you reside in ZIP codes 30318 or 30314.

The Wellness Center is nearing completion!

Site work continues as we passed the City of Atlanta’s plumbing inspection and were able to pour the final section of concrete in the fitness center. Interior wall work is slated to move quickly now. We are working closely with our partner, the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, to ensure the power and data supply is more than adequate for the equipment and server connectivity needs.

The benching and stonework surrounding the signature maple tree are progressing as well as the double-sided fireplace outside the pavilion. The security door for the garage should arrive soon. Our exterior pavers arrived safely from Miami and are being stored on site until that phase of the project. The siding has been installed on the fitness center and garage and looks very nice against the stonework. The water meter has been installed, and work will begin soon on exterior lighting, final grading, fencing, and landscaping.

In hoping for a September completion date, the construction team believes it will be mid-October before the work is completed. We are planning multiple grand opening events to invite the community in to see the new spaces upon completion!
